Chris L. Granberg is a government affairs specialist handling complex legislative and regulatory issues for clients. He has successfully developed and implemented sophisticated advocacy strategies and formed diverse coalitions necessary to advance the interests of clients ranging from large conglomerates to small technology firms, as well as trade associations and other nonprofit entities. Mr. Granberg has successfully lobbied on behalf of clients' interests in the development of federal legislation and regulation related to the financial services, energy, and chemical industries. He has assisted technology firms seeking to raise awareness of their products among federal, state, and local law enforcement and homeland security officials. During the 111th Congress, Mr. Granberg led a coalition of law enforcement organizations in their successful lobbying campaign to enact a federal health monitoring and compensation program to benefit emergency personnel who responded to the terrorist attacks on New York City on September 11, 2001. Mr. Granberg previously served as Senior Legislative Liaison for the National Fraternal Order of Police, the nation's largest law enforcement labor organization. In this capacity, he represented the organization's interests in homeland security policy, financial crimes and civil asset forfeiture, federal grant programs, and employment laws. In the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, this included participating in the development of the USA PATRIOT Act and the Homeland Security Act. He continues to speak to organizations on security requirements created after 9/11 to safeguard the nation’s critical infrastructure from terrorist attacks. Mr. Granberg resides in Clifton, Virginia and is actively involved in his community. He is currently the Chairman of the Policy and Planning Council for Centreville United Methodist Church, and the former President of the Centreville United Methodist Men.
