Chris L. Granberg is the Managing Director of Public Policy for Siff & Lake, LLP. Mr. Granberg focuses on complex public policy matters. He has represented business entities ranging from technology firms to energy companies, as well as nonprofit entities on federal legislative and regulatory issues before the Congress and Federal agencies. His practice focuses on legislative and regulatory issues related to homeland security, criminal justice, technology, energy policy, financial services, and workforce issues. Clients rely on Mr. Granberg to develop sophisticated advocacy strategies and to form the coalitions necessary to advance their interests before the federal government. Mr. Granberg joined the firm after serving as Senior Legislative Liaison for the National Fraternal Order of Police, the nation's largest law enforcement labor organization. In this capacity, he effectively represented the organization before Congress and the Executive Branch of government during both Democratic and Republican Administrations. Mr. Granberg directed the F.O.P.'s efforts on numerous legislative and regulatory initiatives related to homeland security, civil asset forfeiture, criminal justice, grant programs, financial crimes, employment laws, and federal personnel and labor-management systems. In the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Mr. Granberg represented the interests of law enforcement in the development of anti-terrorism bills, including the USA PATRIOT Act and the Homeland Security Act. Since joining Siff & Lake, Granberg has represented clients on sophisticated legislation, such as the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Act, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, the Food & Energy Security Act of 2008, and the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act. Mr. Granberg has also works on significant public policy matters in the areas of financial regulatory reform, critical infrastructure protection, and health care. He is highly regarded for his knowledge of post-September 11 federal access control programs and associated employee background check requirements created to secure the nationā??s critical infrastructure and transportation systems against terrorist attacks. He is a frequent speaker on these issues for trade associations and nonprofit entities. |
